Fussy Cutting by Angie

Hello everyone!  Angie here to share with you some great ideas on fussy cutting.  Hambly Screen Prints are great for fussy cutting.  Some people don't like to fussy cut but I actually enjoy it. 

First start with your supplies and scissors.  I didn't use a trimmer at all.

First I took the the White Honeycomb overlay and cut it out (not perfectly just random)

Then I layered the pink Diagonal Ally paper. 

Then I took the teal Chevron Mash-up paper and cut out photo corners.

Then I cut out some balloons, clouds, and butterflies.

Then I used the Chevron Mash-up overlay for my bottom.  That was fun to cut lol!

Here is my layout with all the fussy cutting.  The title reads "Everybody has a bad day some times".  She woke up grumpy and since she is just getting hair it stands up every where.
I used some of the Spilled Ink rubons.  Love how they match the yellow Diagonal Alley overlay.
I also used some mini overlays.  I love these!

We are excited to welcome some new guest designers. This month we have the talented Erin Yamabe.

I'll highlight a few of our favorite projects below,  you can also visit her Hambly gallery to see more work.

Erin created this cute project using a mix of the new release. They are little magnet boards.

Here are a few layouts she created, I love all the layers of the new release in here. (plus the washi tape & mini overlays)

Here Erin is using the white on white clouds paper that act like a resist with some inks. This also works with the new honeycomb paper, antique doily, raffle leaf and more. 

The hand-stitching and washi tape are really cool in this one.

Erin has also created layouts for the Hambly booth in the past, and she always impresses us with her work.  This one she had on display at CHA winter.

Easter weekend project by Leeann

Hi there Hambly fans, Leeann here to share with you a little something special this Easter. While Easter shopping I spied some very cheap cookie cutters and decide to have some fun with them. Gather your materials together and let’s get started. Materials list: Easter shape cookie cutters, Washi Tape, Chicken Coop, Woodgrain remix, Paper flowers, Buttons, Hand dyed itty bitty doilies, Twine, Handmade fimo pin toppers, Feather, Butterfly punch and a drill.
Step 1: Place the cookie cutter on to your pattern paper and trace. Use a little piece of double sided tape and place the chicken coop overlay on top of the traced shape. Now just cut out your shape.
Step 2: Mark the top of your cookie cutter and drill a small hole for the twine to go through then cover the outside with washi tape.
Step 3: Thread twine through hole and knot, trim the twine ends. Adhere the paper to the back. Allow to dry and clean any excess off. Embellish the inside with flower sticker and fill with buttons. Adhere the chicken coop overlay to the top and allow to fully dry. Finish off with threading a dyed doily and button. Use extra twine and tie a bow at the button.

Hambly Erasable Board by Iris

 Hi! It’s summer time and school break for us here in the Philippines… and that means having to find ways to keep my girls busy. Nicole loves to draw and sketch and I thought it would be nice to make her a sketch board which can be written on over and over again with the use of a white board marker.
Here are the materials you will need:

• Clearly heavy Overlay CO100
• ¾ Graph HP331
• Birds and Owls R591
• Washi Tape DT103

• The first thing you need to do is to adhere your graph paper on a thicker cardstock. • Next, place your clear overlay on the graph paper and secure with Washi Tape. • Add rub-ons and stickers if you like
• If you want more writing space for your child, you can also adhere another transparency at the back side like I did here.
• Give your child a few whiteboard markers and your are ready to go.

Hello friends,

I am excited to share with you this flower tutorial  ;)

To make these flowers out of Hambly pattern paper, please see the images attached.

i) From clockwise, left top, trace a 6-petal flower shape onto a Hambly pattern paper, Brocade.

ii) Cut them out. To make one flower, you will need to 4 pieces of the traced flower.

iii) Fold them into half, and half again.

iv) Punch out a circle shape from a cardstock. Apply glue. Adhere the folded flowers onto this circle piece. Add a brad in the middle.

v) Now, you can use the flowers on your layout.

DT Tutorial by Paige

Paige here today to show you a paper weaving tutorial! First, cut strips of varying widths and all 12" long from assorted patterned papers and patterned transparencies - you can even throw some border stickers and washi tape in the mix!
Place a line of adhesive across the top edge of your chosen background paper then set a few strips vertically across the page.
Starting on the top left corner, start weaving a strip going under, over, under, over. Reverse going under/over for the next strip and every strip after that.
Keep weaving the strips until the entire page is covered.
Trim away some of the strips where you want your photo to go.
Add your photo, title, and journaling in the empty space. Thanks for looking!

Hi there everyone, Mou Saha here.
This month, I wanted to work on a layout with layers of details.

Supplies:
    •    Hambly 12" x 12" Metallic Silver Ink on Kraft Textured On Edge Paper
    •    Hambly Antique White Hearts Rub-Ons
    •    Hambly Kraft Cardstock Elegant Labels Sticker Sheet with a write-able surface.
    •    Hambly Washi Tape - Yellow and Red Grandmas Wallpaper and Teal Hearts.
    •    Patterned cardstock
    •    Kraft cardstock
    •    Acrylic paints
    •    Punches
    •    Decorative scissors
    •    Sewing machine
Let me walk you through my steps.
    •    Punch out circles in various sizes along the right edge of an 8 ½” x 5 ½” kraft cardstock.
    •    Paint cardstock.
    •    Attach a 6 ¾” x 9 ¾” piece of the silver ink paper toward the right of the brown swirl cardstock.
    •    Attach painted cardstock from step 2 on the silver paper.
    •    Attach photo on the cardstock.
    •    Paint a frame around it.
    •    Cut out selected words and images from the Hearts rub-on sheet.
    •    Place rub-ons inside the punched out sections, above and below the photo, and apply.
         •   Attach strips of washi tape around the painted cardstock.
    •    Loop a piece of tape through one of the punched circles.

    •    Rub on the title on blue paper and attach it above photo as shown.

    •    Journal below photo.
    •    Cut a label sticker in half and attach to the left of the cardstock.
    •    Punch different sizes of butterflies and attach around the page.
    •    Machine stitch to finish.
