Mothers day is fast approaching. I wanted to get a jump on it and make something special for my mom. I am such a procrastinator and feel like she deserves for me to be ahead of the game. With that being said I am a busy mom of 4 myself so I needed something quick easy and beautiful.
I came up with this vase to house her lovely bouquet of flowers, I plan on buying her. Simple, easy and beautiful. Lets get started.
Supplies
white glue
stapler * I used my tiny attacher*
Chevron hambly transparency
cylinder type vase
glitter
foam brush
paper trimmer
sharpie pen
1.First grab your vase. I bought mine at the dollar tree but I hear they have them at walmart also. Measure your vase by wrapping your transparency around and eyeing where you want the ends. I wanted only a 1.4 inch over hang so I cut accordingly. Use your similar color sharpie to make a line where you are going to cut.
2. Once you have cut your transparency to the right size, you will need your white glue and foam brush. Plop a glob of white glue down on your transparency. Make sure it is the slick side. Some glues have a reaction and will make the printed side bleed.
3.Brush glue evenly over entire transparency. Sprinkle with glitter. Shake off and repeat until covered evenly. Set aside and let dry. *it takes a good 3 hours to completely dry. To check just look at the other side to see any white glue. When dry you will only see glitter.*
4. Once it is dry wrap around your vase and attach. I attached using my tiny attacher. I stapled one at the top and one at the bottom. You could also use a very strong adhesive or adhesive tape would work nicely.
5. Fill with flowers or a candle.
While you are waiting for your glue to dry you could make a sweet little candle holder. Follow all the steps above except the glitter part (or glitter away, it's up to you). I bought my tiny candle holders at Michaels.
Hope this has inspired you to get ahead of the game for Mother's day and make her something special.
Fabulous idea!!!
