Hello everyone, this is Janna with some tips on how to create some nice effects on your layout.
These are the Hambly supplies I used:
Paper: pen & ink, brocade, little circles
Overlays: brocade blossom (2 different colors), chicken coop, birds on wire, little circles, woodgrain remix, chic circles, clearly heavy overlay
Rub-Ons: Textures One, Birds & Owls
Alpha Stickers - Woodgrain
Decorative Washi Tape
other:
cardstock, twine, sewing machine, acrylic paint, score pal, white paper, typewriter, black pen, ink, stamp, dimensionals
I choose a plain background and added acrylic paint to it. After stamping the text onto the paper I started sewing. As you can kind of see I drew on the paper and stitched a flower with my sewing machine.
I used my score pal to add dimension and a more interesting look to the background.
I love the effect of a floating title. But I wanted to add a background as well…
so I choose a clearly heavy overlay as a background of my title! I applied the alphas and then added dimensionals on the backside to give it the appearance of floating.
I rarely journal on my layouts, but I love using lots of words in my title :) I cut out a circle from the chic circles overlay and used the clear center to write on it. This would be a great place for journaling as well, what do you think?
As you can see, you can create great effects with very simple techniques. Hope you enjoyed this tutorial!
