-Hello everyone! This is my first Hambly post!  I made a joyful and colorful layout, using all Hambly's wonderful product! I used photos of my dear friends! I hope you enjoy!
Supply list: White Rub On Doiles Hambly Alphabet/Woodgrain Hambly Alphabet/Kraft Hambly Kraft Sticker Chandeliers Hambly kraft Sticker Owls and Birds Hambly Frame Wallpaper Overlay Hambly Pencils, scissor, butons, cream cardstock, Distress ink, glimmer mist.

1. Apply Rub-on on cardstock, the way you prefer.

2. Apply distress ink color of your choice on the rub-on. I mixed red and yellow.
3. With a paper towel, remove the ink from the rub-on.
Thus creating a shading effect, highlighting the design of the rub-on
4. To finish the painting of the background, I applied turquoise glimmer mist.

5. Use the Kraft Hambly alphabet as decorationon your photos, creating a mosaic of letters.
6. I used the black overlay on the photo, and the cute birds stickers to decorate.
7. To balance the layout, I made a detail in the upper right corner, using black overlay and chandeliers stickers.

Holiday Overlay Card

Oh how I love glitter, and it is a messy element when left to roam the world uncontained! In my home we lovingly refer to it as the herpes of the craft world, and without fail whenever I try to adhere it to anything it will have bits that escape! We will find it on a dog’s nose, in the carpet, my husband’s eyebrow or any number of undesirable places.

My goal was to find a way to incorporate glitter into a holiday card without having the shedding that typically occurs with a glitter project.

I started by trimming the gorgeous reindeer overlay into a panel and then a beautiful bright green card stock to go behind it.It was then machine stitched on three sides to contain the glistening glitter. If you don’t have a sewing machine, you can use a strong hold adhesive and achieve a similar look, but the glitter will stick to the edges of the adhesive.Pour a little bit of glitter into the pocket that you have created. I used two different colors in mine, the pink to compliment the color of ribbon that I planned on using and a white. Machine stitch the last edge shut (or carefully apply adhesive) and get all that glitter contained so it can’t run amuck, creating havoc everywhere it goes.The panel is now ready to be adhered to a card top or a gift bag, and it is so easy to make that you can make many of them in a short time. Don’t forget to tie with a bow!

Christmas Tree Ornaments

Christmas is fast approaching but there is still time for creating last minute Christmas decorations for your tree, I would like to show you how quick and easy it can be using a Hambly Screenprint Overlay. Step 1  Gather your supplies I have used a Mini  brocade overlay in gold for a festive feel,  scissors, paper trimmer, stapler, thick glue and embellishments to finish off your decorations.Step 2 Using your paper trimmer cut strips from the overlay approx 1/3 inch wide, make sure all your strips are the same width by placing one cut strip over the overlay to measure it.

 

Step 3 & Step 4 With your scissors cut each strip in half. Then using your stapler staple each strip together at the end.Step 5 Here is an optional extra for a different look, crease the end of the stapled strip to form a leaf shape.Step 6 Take a piece of card or chipboard and cut it into a small circle, using some strong glue, adhere the stapled end to the middle of the circle. Continue until the circle is full. Allow to dryStep 7 While waiting for your glue to dry, create the finishing touches for your decorations, I have used crepe paper, vintage book paper, buttons and charms. Once dry, glue your embellishment to the front of the decoration again using your strong adhesive. Finish with some ribbon to hang from the tree.

Hi there!  This is Jennifer Rzasa, and I’m so excited to be posting my first project for the Hambly Screen Prints DT!

My project today is one that I made for a secret gift program at my job called “Secret Angel.”  I was trying to think of what I could give that would be good for a fellow teacher, and the first thing that came to mind was chocolate!   I always keep a stash of sweets in my classroom, so I figured she’d probably want some too...who wouldn’t?

My favorite Hambly products to work with are the overlays- they always look impressive!  I chose to use the festive Holiday Deer overlay for my treat holder. 

1.  Start with a piece cut to 5.5”x8.5.”

2.  Fold the short ends together, and sew along the edge with a ¼ in. seam allowance.

3.  Crease the seam to one side of the tube....

4.  ...and sew one end of the tube closed

5.  Now you have a perfect little container to fill with treats!

6.  Yum!

7.  Now, here’s the tricky part.  Close the top, folding it in the opposite direction as the bottom, and sew the end closed.  Be careful not to let any of the goodies slip out!

8.  It’s ready to decorate!  Although the sewn ends looked clean and polished, I decided to embellish them with some washi tape folded over each edge.  I also used the tape to make little flags to adhere under the journaling sticker . 

9.  The finishing touches are rhinestones (on the sticker and the reindeer noses) and a red snowflake, cut from a scrap piece of the overlay.

Creating Gift Bags

Hey everyone, this is Janna :) I am delighted to be sharing my first Hambly post with you today. I am always a bit lazy when it comes to buying christmas presents, most years I end up with buying vouchers two days before Christmas Eve (yes I know, very creative ;) ). Of course I am then missing wrapping paper… well, you know how it is! But this year I figured out a nice and easy way to wrap my presents. All you will need is a paperbag and some lovely yummie Hambly materials for decorating.

• Supply List:
• Hambly Papers- mini graph, holiday deer, little circles, mini brocade, the birdcages
• Hambly Overlays-  high tea, holiday deer
• Hambly Stickers: clear stickers - on the edge border/christmas, kraft cardstock stickers – Christmas
• Hambly Washi Tape
• paperbag, trimmer, pencil, scissor, tulle, sewing machine

1. Get a trimmer, scissor, pencil and paperbag

2. To create a nice shape on the top of the paperbag, sketch a shape and cut along your sketched line, using a scissor

3. Cut in the edges of the paperbag like I show on the picture, bend the piece that is shown on the left side backwards

4. Cut off the right piece like shown on the picture. Take care to not cut into the piece that you bent backwards before. But if you do… no problem at all as you can add washi tape to fix it. After cutting off the not needed piece of paper, bend the first piece to the other site so it closes your bag. Now you can start decorating!!

Karine’s frame and Christmas wreath!

Hello everybody!

I am so happy and excited to be sharing my first post here. For my first tutorial, I would like to share with you a few little projects for Christmas.

I think using Hambly products like papers, washi tape (Hears/Doily/Grandmas), transparencies ( Holiday Deer), stickers (clear stickers / kraft cardstock stickers) are just perfect for some Christmas decoration…
I want to show you how you can decorate your home with scrapbooking products

Follow me, it’s very quick and easy.

Step 1: First I want to decorate a frame for my house
I bought an Ikea frame a long time ago. It’s now time to embellish it !
I used overlays with the reindeer design.
 
Cut the paper, be careful don’t cut heads reindeer’s !!!
You need to add white cardstock under the transparency to add more contrast.
 
Step 2: I added yellow washi tape on the glass to add color and texture.
 
Step 3: Put a clear label stickers on a white paper and cut out to made opaque. Add to frame over washi tap, and add the “Noel” sticker.

Step 4 : Decorate now a Christmas wreath with just small pieces of papers.
I used my Big Shot to create embellishments using different patterned papers.
 
Add the flowers and attach with a brad.
 
Step 5 : Wrap baker's twine around the wreath.

Step 6 : Add embellishments to just a part of the wreath. You can add metal circle and tag.
 

Step 7 : To complete the decoration, you can add candy canes. You just need to wait Christmas to eat them!
Decorate with just a piece of paper Hambly and a green ribbon.

You can also punch some stars to decorate your table too !

Layout Tutorial by Mou Saha

Hi everyone, Mou Saha here.

For my first tutorial for the Hambly Blog, I wanted to do something simple and to me, grids are simple and clean. When I tried choosing my papers, I couldn’t pick just one. They were all so pretty that I decided to use them all in my grid like pieces of puzzle where the patterns match and the colors transition. I found that to match the pieces the way I wanted, I needed to cut part of each the paper, the exact same way, into squares with each side measuring 1.75”. I used a paper trimmer for this, but you can also use craft knife and ruler or even punches or dies if you have that size.

Here are the supplies you'll need:

• 4 different 12 x 12 sheets of Hambly Holiday Deer Papers 
• Hambly Elgant Labels Kraft Cardstock Stickers
• Cardstock
• Pen and color pencil
• Adhesive
• Sewing machine

Leaving about ¾ of an inch from top and left, I marked my starting point on an 8.5”x11” kraft cardstock. If you prefer the 12x12 format, you will need more squares of each color. I arranged the 16 squares, 4 of each color to the background as shown.

Next, I added two 2”x2” photos below the grid toward the left and added a kraft label sticker to the right as a base for my title. I journaled below the title, stitched a border all around it, and finally, added rows of mini triangles below the photos and to the top left corner of the composite with blue color pencil to finish.

Hi everyone, this is Felicitas. I’m totally excited about writing my very first post for Hambly. I’m still overwhelmed that I’m part of this amazing team :)
I’m 31 years old and I live in Stuttgart (Germany) with my supportive husband Steffen. I’m so blessed to be a fulltime artist and I love it! My art work is very detail oriented. I have a passion for mixing different colors, styles and supplies in my projects. I totally torn between classical scrapbooking and mixed mixed and I always try to combine those worlds. You know Christmas is here and I almost got all gifts for family and friends. On Christmas Eve, the real Christmas here in Germany ;)... I love watching my familiy when they get their presents and see all the little details on the present packaging. They always blown away before they even see the present itself. This is why I like to hang some crafted gift tags on my presents.

      




I created this one to show you an easy technique to pimp your ol’ grey chipboard embellishments. All you need is some chipboard, your favorite embossing powder and Hambly’s Rub-Ons. I used the white „Lace Borders“. Ok, let’s start:

Step 1: Press your chipboard shape into a clear embossing ink pad. Make sure that you cover the whole surface. Let the „ink“ just soak deep in the chipboard.

Step 2: Cover the wet chipboard with your embossing powder and take the shape out of it with some tweezers. Tab it slightly on your table to get off the excess.

Step 3: Melt the powder with your heat gun. Make sure that the heat gun is really hot when you get over the powder. If the gun isn’t hot enough, the powder only will blow away, not melt.

Step 4: Cut out some Hambly Doily Rub-Ons and place it on the chipboard. Take a bone folder or your fingernails to rub over the protecting film. The Rub-On will stay on the chipboard.

Step 5: Take your bone folder and fold the excess over the edges and the back.

Step 6: If your cutted Rub-On piece wasn’t big enough, cover the empty spaces with some scraps.


That is it....a really cool technique to customize some chipboard shapes to your project and give it the „Hambly style“. I created some snowflakes with this technique and placed it on my gift tag.
