Holiday Treat Container by Becky
It is that time of year where we start preparing for the holidays at our house, so I thought I would share a way to make sharing treats fun and easy. This cute container can be used to hold small gifts, softer items and most any kind of sweets. The size can be varied as well, and can be made with most kinds of papers and overlays.I started by cutting an overlay into a 6” x 6” piece. I used the white lattice overlay. This project goes fast, so you could make a bunch at a time very easily. Don’t forget that you can use patterned paper for this project as well!
Cut out rub-ons that you want to use from the sheet.
Arrange on the sheet and then rub into place.
Apply adhesive to one edge and adhere other edge in place to form a tube. I found that a melted adhesive worked best for me with the overlay, and that a double sided tape worked best with the patterned paper.
Pinch one end closed of the tube, apply appropriate adhesive and then fill with goodies. If you make bigger containers (8” x 8” for example) you could even put in popcorns, fudges, chocolate covered pretzels, etc.
Pinch other end closed the opposite direction of the other side and apply appropriate adhesive)
Punch holes in the top, tie through with ribbon and a gift tag if desired.
Your treats are now ready to be given tied to a package, hung on a door knob as you doorbell ditch someone or even put on a tree as a cute ornament. I hope your holiday preparations are merry and bright!
