Chalkboard Paint Easter Egg Rub-on Place Cards
Wow, that is quite the mouthful to describe what I am sharing today. While it looks like a lot of work given the description, this is a really easy and fun project that you can have the kids help you with.
If you are going to have littles help, you may want to paint the eggs before hand, but if you have mid to olders that need a fun project this is one that lets everyone enjoy the mess. Start with some chalkboard paint, boiled eggs and a paint brush.
Apply a light coat of the paint to the eggs, let it dry and repeat a couple of more times so you get nice even dark coverage.
Get out your rub-ons while the paint is drying. I think this is a fun way to use up random designs that you may not have found other uses for.
Trim design from sheet, remove protective backing and place onto the egg and gently but firmly rub into place.
Now you can decorate the eggs as desired with a basic piece of chalk or use the kids multi colored sidewalk chalk for even more color options. If you are using as a place card, write names on the eggs and then set out on the table at the assigned seats for your guests.
A few things to remember, these eggs should not be consumed after you treat them with this paint. You can put the rub-ons onto dyed eggs or uncolored eggs, just remember to refrigerate them if you intend to eat them at some point.
This technique is really fun, so use it for picture frames, hanging décor or any other décor items that you can think of, Hambly rub-ons look great on everything!
