Creating a transparent window on your layout
I’m back today with a fun technique to create a window in your layout using a hambly over lay.
Step 1 Gather your supplies. Hambly high tea overlay in cream, cardstock for your base and a paper trimmer. Other supplies (not shown here) you will need include Hambly remnants rubons, hambly crown rubon from the wings rubon sheet.Step 2 Using your paper trimmer cut a square in the centre of your base cardstock, best done by turning the cardstock over to the back, drawing your square with pencil then cutting on the line by placing the blade of your trimmer on the corner of the pencil line and cutting to the next corner, repeat for all four sides. Of course you could also draw a circle , rectangle or any shape you wish.
Step 3 Cut a square from your hambly overlay a little bigger than your square from your base cardstock. (this is in order to have enough room on your overlay to tape it to your cardstock.)
Step 4 Attach the overlay to the back of your cardstock base using double sided tape and then turn it to the front, and machine stitch ( I like to use a zig zag stitch) around the edge for a finished look.
I have completed my layout by adding a crown rubon to my photo and remnant rubon layered under various embellishments.
OMG!!!
So simple and Soooo Cool!!!
