Have you used Tim Holtz's Adirondack Alcohol Inks with your Hambly transparencies yet? If you haven't, you need to try it. You can create some beautiful looks!
1. To make my page, I started with the Hambly "Autumn Breeze" transparency in cream. I flipped the transparency over so I could work on the side that is not screen printed. You'll be able to feel which side has the print on it...the print will be slightly raised, and the reverse side will be completely smooth. You want to apply the inks to the smooth side.
The inks I used are Tim Holtz Adirondack Alcohol inks in Butterscotch, Purple Twilight, Ginger and Burnt Orange. I also used the Blending Solution.
2. Apply one or two colors of ink to the felt pad on the blending tool, and start pouncing the ink onto the transparency. Pounce around and cover a large section of the transparency.
3. Apply a second color to the felt pad, and continue covering the transparency with color. Remember to pounce the ink on using an up & down motion...don't swipe it.
4. I felt like my inks weren't blending well enough, so I put some blending solution on my felt pad and pounced the whole area with the blending solution. That helped the inks blend together well and also created interesting patterns. Here's how my transparency looked from the reverse side, after I used the blending solution.
5. When you have the whole transparency covered, you're done! Flip it over and use it as the base for a great scrapbook page or other project. Here's how my page looks from the front side. I backed the transparency with white cardstock so that the colors would be especially vibrant.
6. Create a page! As you can tell from the above picture, I sewed around the page to give it a border. Then I added some more Hambly papers, a photograph, and my title & journaling. Here's my finished page.
Wow... That's so clever - and it looks aaaamazing!
