Using Washi Tape With Die Cuts
Hi, Becky here!
I am really excited to share this fun technique using the washi tape that Hambly has just released. I love using die cuts to personalize my projects, and the washi tape gives me even further options for making my die cuts even more unique. How cool is that? (can you tell that I am more than a little excited about this?!!)To start you need to select a die shape that you want to use on your project. Measure the base of the die and then cut a piece of chipboard that size. Start at the top of the piece of chipboard and lay a strip of the washi tape of your choice across the width.
Continue laying strips of tape edge to edge until the piece of chipboard is completely covered. Use a folding tool to burnish the tape into the surface of the chipboard to get good adherence.
Run the chipboard and die through your cutting system.
Add any extra pieces or layers that are needed to your die cut and then use on your project.
With so many fun Hambly washi patterns, and the wide variety of die cuts that are out there, the possible combinations for unique embellishments that perfectly compliment any of your projects is limitless, so enjoy playing!
