Simple & fast Halloween decor by KL ...
Like alot of you, I'm sure, I'm a huge lover of holiday decorating. I feel like the entire month of October I've had bits & pieces of one Halloween craft or another sitting on my table. One of the things I most like to incorporate with my scrapbook items are vintage treasures, like the old bottles and the vintage pocket watch casing topper, seen in the skeleton decor above.
To freshen up our decor this year {as I like to change it up yearly} I wanted to make an altered floral arrangement. To do this I filled a vintage glass bottle with candy corn, stuck in some willow braches that were tied with random bits of ribbon & crepe paper. The front was created by making a pleated crepe paper flower {just fold the crepe paper lengthwise and cut fringe into the non-folded edge. make sure to not cut all the way to the fold} the layer with some pleated paper rosettes, a vintage style metal clock face and the fabulous Hambly Halloween kraft stickers we all adore.
The skeleton bottle was created by decorating a vintage pocket watch casing with a punched piece of Hambly paper, adding one fo those mini kraft skeletons {i love these guys!} and then gluing it to the top of an old pharmacy bottle that I had filled with mini clear seed beads {available at any craft store}. I then added a small seam binding ribbon bow and some bat kraft stickers {I cut these from the border strip so I could sprinkle them along the front of the bottle}.
Simple and easy and the total time to create was under an hour. For this busy mama of two that is the type of crafting I really adore. ;)
supplies used : Halloween kraft stickers, Black Le Romantique paper, Old Lace paper.
Happy October!
