It's my turn today and I just wanted to share a simple wreath I created using the snowflake transparencies. It's a simple project that can be created in less than an hour and because it's winter themed and not holiday specific you can keep it up long after the holiday decorations have been put away. In fact, in these colors it could work until valentines day.
Step 1 : Wrap ribbon {I used vintage rayon seam binding} all the way around a Styrofoam wreath base and pin the ends to the back.
Step 2 : Hand cut various frosty snowflakes from an overlay sheet {I used two sheets}. The larger snowflakes were given dimension by holding over and heating edges with a low watt light bulb {a technique I have used alot with overlays} until the edges curl and become more three-dimensional. Be careful not to burn yourself. :)
Step 3 : Pin snowflakes, random buttons, extra ribbon and giant flower as desired to wreath.
Step 4 : Hang with a ribbon loop pinned to the back and enjoy.
Happy Holidays!
